Carine Mathurin

Merck, Director of Global Impact Giving & Community Engagement

Carine brings over two decades of leadership in social responsibility, corporate partnerships, and community engagement. As Director of Global Impact Giving at Merck, she leads initiatives that strengthen communities, respond to humanitarian crises, and address systemic inequities. Previously, Carine was Senior Director at Gilead Sciences, where she co-led a corporate responsibility initiative addressing health disparities in regions heavily burdened by HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. Her public-sector experience includes serving as Chief of Staff at the DC Department of Health/HIV AIDs Administration and Deputy Commissioner at NYC’s Department of Homeless Services. Carine is driven by a passion for systemic change, blending policy and action to create sustainable solutions for community well-being.
