Vodafone Foundation has undertaken over 22 deployments in countries including the Philippines, Mozambique, and Nepal. From providing critical communication services during disasters—such as free internet access and charging stations—to developing education hubs through its Instant Network Schools (INS), Vodafone is actively engaged in all phases of crisis management: response, recovery, and mitigation.
A key example of this commitment is the collaboration between the Vodafone Foundation and UNHCR to expand digital learning opportunities for displaced and host community learners in Mozambique. Thousands of displaced children and those from host communities in Cabo Delgado are benefiting from enhanced digital education through this initiative.
This program is transforming traditional classrooms into connected learning hubs, bridging the digital divide and equipping both students and teachers with essential digital skills. The expansion of INS to Cabo Delgado will introduce innovative digital tools into classrooms, significantly improving the quality of education. To further strengthen education in the region, five additional schools in Pemba District will be included in the 2025/2026 school year, reaching over 15,000 students. With this expansion, more children—particularly those forcibly displaced—will gain access to the educational resources they need to rebuild their futures.
